A mini story about me
My journey began with pixel art in Windows XP Paint at age 11, which
sparked my fascination with digital design. This early obsession
evolved into a career as a UI Engineer, where I blend design with
engineering to create intuitive interfaces. At Arqiva, I led the
design of a company-wide component library, and I'm constantly
looking for ways to simplify complex problems through thoughtful
design systems and collaboration.
(Btw I get it, we're all busy)
A big story about me
I still remember when I became fascinated with web graphics. I was
11 years old, playing with Windows XP Paint on the only computer in
our household. I’d spend hours drawing pixel-perfect shapes,
carefully counting the exact number of pixels and their positions.
At the time, they were just tiny squares to me — but soon I
discovered bits and bytes, binary and hexadecimal numbers, digital
colour, and Imagine, a Slovak programming language. That’s when I
realised there was more than just arranging pixels — there was a
whole world of logic and design working together.
That early obsession with detail and structure naturally grew into a
career where I now work as a UI Engineer, blending design and
engineering. Along the way, I’ve explored everything from front-end
development to product design, but I’ve always gravitated back to
creating interfaces that feel intuitive and human. In fact, at my
current company I’ve become known as “the person who designs
things,” often being invited into design conversations beyond my
formal role.
Today, I thrive at the intersection of design and engineering —
turning complex problems into simple, scalable solutions. I
especially love working on design systems: at Arqiva, I led the
design of a company-wide component library that streamlined
workflows for both designers and developers, ensuring consistency at
scale. I also enjoy mentoring, collaboration, and exploring new
technologies, including AI, to keep pushing my craft forward.
Looking ahead, I’m driven to deepen my expertise as a design
engineer and take on greater responsibility. I want to grow into
more senior roles where I can shape products end-to-end, influence
design strategy, and empower teams through thoughtful systems and
collaboration. Ultimately, my goal is to keep learning, keep
challenging myself, and help create products that not only work
seamlessly but also genuinely improve people’s lives.
